With summer coming to an end the rain and precipitation comes on even stronger. With the rain comes water and with the water comes water damage. Everyone has had some type of weather related emergency, whether it is water damage, mold, smoke damage, and even fire damage. The moment you walk into a room and notice one of these incidences has occurred it is an immediate drop in your heart. Why now? I don’t have time for this. Now what? Is usually how it goes.

Some might say leave it, while others hysterically start “fixing” it themselves, and others frantically search Google for a company that takes care of these disasters. Who’s to say that there’s one right way to handle these situations. However, safety is a factor. Water damage can create a dangerous environment, along with fire and smoke damage. Mold can also be a serious health issue. These misfortunes are not to be taken lightly.

Does the average person know how to properly go about dealing with water damage? Mold, fire, smoke, and water damage are four problems that the average person, not only does not know how to handle, but doesn’t have the experience or the resources to properly take care of the problem.

Deciding to call on experts is the safest option. “These emergencies should be handled by certified professionals,” says J*** D*** of Structure Medic. Hiring a certified company to take care of the problems is the safest and best solution. The next, and most important, step is finding a company that is certified in handling the problem. Another important skill that the company must have is that they are experts in restoration.

Many companies will clean up after these disasters, but they are not experts in restoration, however restoration is a crucial part. Cleaning up the problem is great, but getting your home looking like normal again is an essential part. Restoration takes skill and expertise and should not be left to amateurs. It is necessary to take care of home disasters for safety, health, and your sanity.

Structure Medic is Georgia’s most experienced team of restoration experts. Certified, licensed, and insured for all restoration needs including fire damage, water damage, smoke damage, and mold removal.

Hurricane Irene is on an unstoppable path and civilians are becoming increasingly concerned about its long-term effects on their towns. It has been years since a hurricane of this magnitude hit the eastern coastline. It’s expected that the storm will affect the Carolinas, D.C,, New York, New Jersey and even the New England states. The potential water damage that will result from Hurricane Irene will be detrimental if drastic measurements aren’t taken.

The last thing that people will want to think about after the storm hits will be where to find water damage restoration services. To help alleviate this stress, Structure Medic is planning to bring water damage crews to D.C. to service the areas affected by Hurricane Irene. Structure Medic is a restoration service with over 30 years of experience in repairing homes from all kinds of damages, specifically water and flood damages. The highly qualified and well-trained crew of Structure Medic will head to D.C. with emergency response trucks fully equipped and prepared to help repair homes upon request.

Stephen Elliot, owner of Structure Medic, has rallied his troops to fight the effects of this Hurricane for as long as they need to: “We need to be proactive and get into the homes as quickly as possible before the water does even more damage than it needs to.” The experience of repairing homes affected by water damage in the D.C. area will not be Structure Medic’s first. In the year 2009, after the heavy rainstorms took place, the Structure Medic crews helped many D.C. residents by extracting as much as 18 inches of water from their homes. This year, the crew plans to extract the water in the houses that are affected by this current storm, as well dehumidify and treat bacteria with microban. Other restoration services that Structure Medic provides include industrial air movers, deodorization and sanitation, wall and contents drying and carpet and upholstery cleaning.

Structure Medic holds true to its motto that it’s number one when disaster strikes. Although Structure Medic is based in Atlanta, the company is dedicated to helping people with water-damaged nationwide. The current focus of the crew is to help the people of D.C. as soon as possible in order to prevent further damage from occurring.

Stephen Elliot works closely with insurance companies to resolve issues quickly and cost efficiently. His team is highly committed to helping people repair their homes from water damage, especially in D.C. for the massive 2011 Hurricane Irene. They care about taking the necessary precautions and make homes affected by water damage safe to live in.
